RevHealth – Scaling a Pharma Marketing Agency's Development Operations
RevHealth, a design and development agency specializing in pharmaceutical and healthcare marketing websites, needed to strengthen its technical infrastructure and streamline delivery. Initially brought in as a contractor, Bryan was quickly promoted to lead development efforts, overseeing infrastructure, team management, and workflow optimization.
Managed a hosting environment with more than 60 Amazon EC2 instances, ensuring stability, scalability, and performance for client projects. He established AWS-based infrastructure that included repositories, hosting, and CI/CD pipelines using Amazon EC2, AWS OpsWorks, and GitHub. He also improved development workflows and deployment protocols, reducing manual steps and improving reliability.
Beyond infrastructure, led hiring and onboarding efforts for full-time developers and a new head of development, helping scale the team effectively. He worked closely with project managers to allocate resources, meet deadlines, and improve cross-team collaboration. On the technical side, he contributed directly to projects built with Node.js, Angular, MySQL, Amazon DynamoDB, and PHP, while also translating PSD designs into responsive, mobile-friendly HTML/CSS implementations.
Outcome: RevHealth gained a more resilient infrastructure, stronger workflows, and a development team equipped to deliver client projects more efficiently and at scale.
